So why is speech recognition so important? Because most people with aphasia have word recall problems. There is a break down when they attempt verbal communication. For treatment they should work on verbal skills. Our programs with speech recognition do exactly that. Programs from other companies that are not as technologically sophisticated as we are, have to resort to typed responses. Research has shown that if you want to improve a skill, you must practice that exact behavior.
